In 2025 I made a small automation: tap the back of my phone, send the clipboard to Claude, get an answer. If the clipboard is empty, the Shortcut asks for text.[^post]\n\nThe appeal is the short path from something I have already found to a question about it. Copy it, call the assistant. No need to find the right app first, then remember what I meant to bring into it.\n\nThe speed was mediocre. I tried different models, including GPT-4o-mini, and the delay seemed about the same. That was my experience, without measurements that would let me identify the bottleneck.\n\nI also found tapping the back of the phone faintly ridiculous. For compatible iPhones, I suggested assigning the Shortcut to the Action Button. The gesture is replaceable; the interesting part is reaching an assistant from the task already in progress.\n\nOne small, consequential detail: this automation sends the clipboard to an AI service. Worth remembering before the tap.\n\n[^post]: [The Shortcut description and short video, 2025](https://t.me/Shipao/2227).\n","tags":["AI","automation","interfaces"],"relatedKeys":["photo-tinder","voice-message-preview","bot-voyage"],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2227","label":"The Shortcut description and short video, 2025"}]},{"id":"blog:ai-on-a-tap:ru","key":"ai-on-a-tap","lang":"ru","kind":"post","title":"Постучал по телефону — ответил Claude","description":"В 2025 я привязал обращение к AI к жесту телефона: текст берётся из буфера обмена, а если там пусто — Shortcut спрашивает, что передать.","url":"/ru/blog/ai-on-a-tap/","markdownUrl":"/ru/blog/ai-on-a-tap.md","markdown":"---\ntitle: \"Постучал по телефону — ответил Claude\"\ndescription: \"В 2025 я привязал обращение к AI к жесту телефона: текст берётся из буфера обмена, а если там пусто — Shortcut спрашивает, что передать.\"\ndate: 2026-10-19\nlang: ru\ntranslationKey: \"ai-on-a-tap\"\ntranslationStatus: original\ntags: [\"AI\", \"автоматизация\", \"интерфейсы\"]\nrelated: [\"photo-tinder\", \"voice-message-preview\", \"bot-voyage\"]\nsourceUrls: [\"https://t.me/Shipao/2227\"]\ncanonical: \"https://shipulin.md/ru/blog/ai-on-a-tap/\"\n---\n\nЯ люблю Apple Shortcuts. В 2025 году собрал себе маленькую автоматизацию: стучу по задней панели телефона, Claude получает содержимое буфера обмена и отвечает. Если буфер пустой, Shortcut предлагает ввести текст.[^post]\n\nСамое привлекательное в этой конструкции — короткий путь от уже найденного текста к вопросу о нём. Скопировал, вызвал помощника. Не приходится сначала искать нужное приложение, а потом вспоминать, что собирался туда принести.\n\nСкорость была посредственной. Пробовал разные модели, в том числе GPT-4o-mini, — по моим ощущениям, задержка оставалась примерно той же. Это личное наблюдение, без замеров, которые позволили бы точно назначить виновного.\n\nСтучать по крышке телефона мне самому казалось несколько нелепым. Владельцам подходящих iPhone я предлагал назначить запуск на Action Button. Жест здесь заменяемый; интересен доступ к помощнику из текущего действия.\n\nИ небольшая, но существенная деталь: буфер в этой автоматизации отправляется AI-сервису. Это часть её устройства, которую полезно помнить до стука.\n\n[^post]: [Описание Shortcut и короткое видео, 2025](https://t.me/Shipao/2227).\n","tags":["AI","автоматизация","интерфейсы"],"relatedKeys":["photo-tinder","voice-message-preview","bot-voyage"],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"original","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2227","label":"Описание Shortcut и короткое видео, 2025"}]},{"id":"blog:immersion-bath:en","key":"immersion-bath","lang":"en","kind":"post","title":"Several days in a bath. And naturally, it misquotes him (it is actually Thomas Aquinas)[^eklund], because the novel is about misinterpretation.\n\nThat alone would have been enough to make the face Jonah Hill makes in *War Dogs*, but it gets worse.\n\nNabokov studied at Trinity College, Cambridge — the very place that holds a page from a twelfth-century manuscript of Peter Lombard's commentary on the Psalms. The commentary is about as peculiar as *Pale Fire* itself: it presents 7 different texts at once — the Psalms themselves, two translations, Peter's commentaries, commentaries on the commentaries, quotations and cross-references, all in different colours and with different kinds of underlining, like a first-year student's notebook.[^smith]\n\nOne of the marginalia (notes in the margins) gives Saint Augustine's interpretation of a tricky passage. Later, someone will draw Augustine himself in the margin beside it, pointing at his own quotation and saying: “I never wrote that.”\n\nHe really didn't, because the quotation is false, and the interpretation is false, and not a soul in the world knows about it except Nabokov, laughing his head off in the afterlife, me, who spent a Sunday evening on this investigation, and you, dear reader who has made it this far.[^post]\n\n---\n\nUseful materials:\n\n1. Комментарий этот примерно такой же причудливый, как сам «Бледный огонь» — в нём одновременно представлено 7 разных текстов: сами Псалмы, два перевода, комментарии Петра, комментарии к комментариям, цитаты и перекрёстные ссылки, все в разных цветах и с разными типами подчёркиваний, словно тетрадь первокурсницы.[^smith]\n\nВ одной из маргиналий (заметок на полях) приводится трактовка блаженного Августина по сложному моменту. You have asked about recommending the service. Let the person recommend it.[^post]\n\nAn observable action can then sit alongside the answer to a hypothetical question. They are different kinds of data: what someone says they intend to do, and what they do when given a particular opportunity.\n\nThis was a proposal, not a report of an experiment. Clicking Share would not capture every recommendation either: someone might mention the service over dinner or send a link manually. But the difference between a survey response and an action becomes something we can investigate.\n\nThe pleasing part is that getting started does not require inventing another scale. Спросили о рекомендации — дайте порекомендовать.[^post]\n\nТак рядом с ответом на гипотетический вопрос появляется наблюдаемое действие. Данные будут разными: что человек сообщил о своём намерении и что сделал, получив конкретную возможность.\n\nЭто пока предложение, а не рассказ о проведённом эксперименте. Нажатие на кнопку тоже не исчерпывает рекомендации: кто-то расскажет о сервисе вечером за ужином, кто-то отправит ссылку вручную. If you think about it, it is a little absurd that all of us, all over the world, use the same Google Maps. Some people commute every day; others hole up at home. One person drives, another doesn't. In some cities, you need to know the last stop and the line number; in others, the next station and the line's colour. Dozens, if not hundreds, of edge cases, and just one interface that is equally wrong for everyone.[^post]\n\nIt is clear why things work this way when making an app takes a year of work by ten expensive specialists. But why should they stay that way when making an app means mumbling a voice message? Getting exactly what you need, in exactly the form that solves your problem, without the incessant droning about a subscription “for the small price of a cup of coffee”.\n\nIn part, this challenges the paradigm that has taken shape over the past 10 years: our screen time is split between ten general-purpose apps owned by the same five megacorporations. I know several platforms that have taken on this problem. One, already available, is actually called Vibecode — the one with an orange square in its logo.\n\nDespite the high quality — Claude 4.5 under the hood — and the killer feature of being able to publish apps straight to the App Store, I struggle to believe in their model. It looks more like a way to flood the existing App Store with slop.\n\nA different approach comes from <https://wabi.ai/>. I recommend reading their whole landing page: it has an interesting account of both the problems and how they intend to solve them. In short, they want to create a social app store: a place where people post apps to a feed like videos on TikTok, and where you can take any app — repost it — and remix it for your own needs. Found a great idea but don't like the design? One request, and you have a modified version.\n\nWabi had not launched yet, but I wrote to the creators and asked for access to an early version. They agreed, so I opened it, started recording my screen and began using it. At first, I was disappointed because it hadn't actually generated my app. The developers said they were fixing it right then: the app had been built, but there were problems launching it. Then I tried other people's apps and had a go at remixing one. Despite all the growing pains of early access, I felt this was something that worked.\n\nI really liked that, simple as the mini-apps were, they were built around GenAI from the start: they could call LLMs, write text, generate images and recognise photographs. I found a mini-app that you could feed any photo, and it would write a prompt for generating something similar in the same style. I uploaded a selfie, got a prompt and discovered there was no Copy button! The prompt's formatting was pretty poor, too.\n\nI clicked “Remix”, typed that I wanted the prompt in JSON format with a way to copy it, and a couple of minutes later got my own version of the app with the missing features.\n\nPerhaps the real magic is in that feeling of co-creation. You know those TikTok videos that other people keep adding to until they become a scene with a completely different story, or an orchestra playing together? Except an app is more than something to watch and laugh at: it has a function. A prompt generator, for instance, is actually useful.\n\nDo I believe this is the final form this format will take? Probably not. Does it have the makings of a big future? Absolutely. Perhaps not here, not now, not in this particular setting, but I can easily imagine Telegram letting people build mini-apps on demand, or Google allowing something similar in the Play Store with Gemini 5.\n\nI'm sharing the video, with a few edits for privacy.[^recording]\n\n[^post]: [My first experience with Wabi, 2025](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/96). Если задуматься, это немного абсурдно, что мы все по всему миру пользуемся одними и теми же Google Картами. Кто-то каждый день ездит на работу, кто-то сычует дома, один водит, другой нет, в одних городах нужно знать конечную станцию и номер ветки, в других — следующую станцию и цвет линии. Десятки, если не сотни эджкейсов, и всего один равно неподходящий всем интерфейс.[^post]\n\nПонятно, почему так происходит, если создание приложения — год работы десятка дорогих специалистов. Но почему так должно быть, когда создание приложения — набормотать голосовуху? Получить ровно то, что тебе нужно, ровно в той форме, которая решает твою задачу, без назойливого бубнежа про подписку «по незначительной цене в одну чашку кофе».\n\nОтчасти это вызов сложившейся в последние 10 лет парадигме, когда наш скринтайм распределяется между десятком универсальных приложений, принадлежащих одним и тем же пяти мегакорпорациям. Я знаю несколько платформ, которые взялись решать эту задачу. Одна, доступная уже сейчас, так и называется — Vibecode (с оранжевым квадратом на логотипе).\n\nНесмотря на высокое качество (Claude 4.5 под капотом) и киллерфичу в виде возможности постить приложения прямо в App Store, в их модель я верю с трудом — это скорее способ заполонить слопом текущий App Store.\n\nДругой подход предлагает <https://wabi.ai/>. Рекомендую почитать их лендинг целиком, он занятно рассказывает и о проблемах, и о том, как собирается их решать. Вкратце — они хотят сделать социальный эпстор: место, где приложения постят в ленту, как видео в Тиктоке, и где каждое приложение можно забрать (репостнуть) себе и заремиксовать под свои нужды. Нашли классную идею, но не нравится дизайн? Один запрос, и у вас видоизменённая версия.\n\nWabi пока не зарелизился, но я написал создателям и попросил доступ в раннюю версию. Они согласились, поэтому я открыл, включил запись экрана и начал пользоваться. Сначала расстроился, потому что, собственно, моё приложение он не сгенерировал (разработчики написали, что чинят прямо сейчас, само приложение собралось, но проблемы с запуском). Но затем я попробовал чужие приложения, потом попытался замиксовать — и несмотря на все болезни раннего доступа, почувствовал, что это рабочая штука.\n\nМне очень понравилось, что, несмотря на простоту мини-аппов, они сразу ориентированы на GenAI, то есть умеют обращаться к LLM, писать тексты, генерировать изображения и распознавать фотографии. Я нашёл мини-апп, которому можно скормить любую фотографию, а он по ней напишет промпт, как сгенерировать что-то подобное в том же стиле. Я загрузил своё селфи, получил промпт и обнаружил, что нет кнопки копирования! Да ещё и формат промпта достаточно бедно форматирован.\n\nЯ нажал «Заремиксовать», вбил, что хочу промпт в формате JSON и с возможностью копирования, и через пару минут получил свою версию приложения с недостающими функциями.\n\nНаверно, главная магия именно в этом чувстве со-творчества. Как, знаете, тикток-видосы, где изначальное видео постепенно дополняют другие авторы, и получается то сценка с совершенно другим сюжетом, то играющий оркестр. Только приложение — не просто про посмотреть и посмеяться, у него есть итоговая функция. Например, генератор промптов — действительно полезная штука.\n\nВерю ли я, что это финальная форма для такого формата? Наверно, нет. Есть ли в ней задел для большого будущего? Безусловно. Может быть, не тут, не сейчас, и не здесь, но представить, как в Телеграме появляется сборка мини-аппов по запросу, или что Google позволяет делать что-то подобное в Play Маркете на основе Gemini 5, я могу легко.\n\nВидео, с небольшими правками приватности, выкладываю.[^recording]\n\n[^post]: [Мой первый опыт с Wabi, 2025](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/96). Until you press Play, it is almost an opaque object.\n\nIn 2026 I found myself wanting a voice-message summariser. My reason was specific: it was not that I did not want to listen to Artemy's message. I did not yet know whether I wanted to. I needed a preview.[^preview]\n\nSix years earlier, I had been thinking about voice-message transcription in VK. Voice messages suit the sender: you can talk on the move without requiring an immediate answer, as a call would. The recipient has a different set of circumstances: headphones, other people nearby, time and the ability to listen. Transcription helps the two sides meet.[^voice]\n\nA useful feature can still land in the wrong workflow. Suppose someone records a message, gets a transcript, edits it and sends the text. Congratulations: you have invented dictation.[^dictation]\n\nA preview answers a different question. Show me what the recording is about before I commit several minutes to it. Пока не нажмёшь Play, перед тобой почти непроницаемый предмет.\n\nВ 2026 году я захотел суммаризатор голосовых. Причина была очень конкретной: «не потому что я не хочу слушать голосовуху Артемия, а потому что я не знаю, хочу я или не хочу». Мне нужен предпросмотр.[^preview]\n\nЗа шесть лет до этого меня занимала расшифровка аудиосообщений во «ВКонтакте». Голосовое удобно отправителю: можно говорить на ходу и не ждать немедленного ответа, как в звонке. У получателя свои обстоятельства: наушники, люди вокруг, возможность слушать, время. Расшифровка помогает договориться этим двум сторонам.[^voice]\n\nНо даже с полезной функцией можно промахнуться в сценарии. Допустим, человек диктует сообщение, получает текст, исправляет его и отправляет. Поздравляю, вы изобрели диктовку.[^dictation]\n\nС предпросмотром вопрос другой. I chose a tour guide: share your location with a Telegram bot, walk around town, and it tells you about places nearby. The first version took an hour and a half.\n\nIt was very simple inside: coordinates went into a model request, and a story came back. Cursor wrote the code from start to finish. It made a convincing demonstration. For everyday use, it was wonky but interesting.\n\n## A walk without a sightseeing checklist\n\nThe workshop ended, but the bot stayed. I used it while travelling and close to home. I wanted to find interesting things along the way, without planning a route or following a compulsory itinerary.\n\nOnce, an ordinary trip to the post office became a half-day walk. First the bot suggested somewhere nearby, then we wanted to reach the next place. We ended up in a Georgian restaurant that had not even opened yet, where someone poured us chacha. The bot had not recommended the restaurant. At some point, you simply start looking around more closely yourself.\n\nThat was the possibility I liked: discovering something where I already happened to be, without having to make a special trip to an “interesting place.”\n\n## A story too good to trust\n\nThe first version repeated itself, misplaced its map pins and wrote rather dull stories. I added photos, place lookup and detailed editorial instructions: how to connect a story to a place, a person and something you can see for yourself.\n\nI liked one of the facts it sent so much that I became suspicious. I checked it and found inaccuracies and embellishments. The story was interesting enough to make me read more, but not reliable enough to take on trust.\n\nIn a 2025 iteration, I connected GPT-5 with web search and rewrote the bot. It gained more thorough checking, French and English interfaces, and a choice of other languages for the stories. The photos still went wrong: sometimes the picture seemed to be telling a story of its own.\n\nWeb search added a way to check material against external sources. This describes the 2025 iteration; the later README lists Claude and search-based verification. The models changed as the project developed.\n\n## Why it is fine to wait\n\nA walking interface turned out to have an advantage: the answer does not have to arrive immediately. While someone walks and looks around, the bot can spend longer finding a place, checking sources and preparing a story.\n\nSo I made live location sharing the main mode. Turn it on, put your phone away, and get an occasional message. A delay that would be irritating in an ordinary chat lets more work happen in the background here. You do not need to stand staring at the screen while AI thinks about your walk.\n\nOne day, I went outside and the bot was not working. So I went home to fix it.\n\nA ninety-minute demonstration had become something worth interrupting a walk for. An unusual measure of success for a tour guide.\n\n## Sources\n\n- [The first bot and the workshop](https://t.me/Shipao/2331)\n- [Editorial instructions, photos and early mistakes](https://t.me/Shipao/2353)\n- [My own walks and the rewrite](https://t.me/Shipao/2366)\n- [Bot Voyage source code](https://github.com/shipaleks/test-tg-coordinate)\n","tags":["AI","walking","interfaces"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","role":"Concept, building with AI, editorial instructions and product iterations","period":"2025–2026","status":"Released Telegram bot with open source code","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2331","label":"The first bot and the workshop"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2353","label":"Editorial instructions, photos and early mistakes"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2366","label":"My own walks and the rewrite"},{"url":"https://github.com/shipaleks/test-tg-coordinate","label":"Bot Voyage source code"}]},{"id":"stories:bot-voyage:ru","key":"bot-voyage","lang":"ru","kind":"project","title":"Bot Voyage: сделал экскурсовода, с которым гуляю сам","description":"Собрал Telegram-бота на мастер-классе в 2025 году, а потом вернулся с прогулки домой его чинить. Я выбрал экскурсовода: отправляешь Telegram-боту геолокацию, идёшь по городу, а он рассказывает о местах рядом. Первая версия заняла полтора часа.\n\nУ неё была очень простая начинка: координаты попадали в запрос к модели, в ответ приходил рассказ. Код от начала до конца написал Cursor. Для демонстрации получилось вполне убедительно. Для повседневного использования — криво, но интересно.\n\n## Прогулка без списка достопримечательностей\n\nМастер-класс закончился, а бот остался. Я включал его в поездках и возле дома. Хотелось находить интересное по пути, без заранее составленного маршрута и обязательной программы.\n\nОднажды обычный поход на почту превратился в полдня прогулки. Сначала бот подсказал место неподалёку, потом захотелось дойти до следующего. Закончилось всё в ещё не открывшемся грузинском ресторане, где нам налили чачи. Ресторан бот не рекомендовал. Просто в какой-то момент ты уже сам начинаешь смотреть по сторонам внимательнее.\n\nМне нравилась именно эта возможность: не ехать к специально выбранному «интересному месту», а обнаружить что-то там, где уже оказался.\n\n## Слишком хорошая история\n\nПервая версия повторялась, неточно ставила точки и скучновато писала. Я добавил фотографии, поиск мест на карте и подробную редакционную инструкцию: как связать историю с местом, человеком и тем, на что можно посмотреть своими глазами.\n\nОдин из присланных фактов настолько мне понравился, что я заподозрил неладное. Проверил — и обнаружил неточности и приукрашивания. Рассказ был достаточно интересным, чтобы пойти читать дальше, но недостаточно надёжным, чтобы просто ему поверить.\n\nВ итерации 2025 года я подключил GPT-5 с веб-поиском и переписал бота. Появились более тщательная проверка, поддержка французского и английского интерфейсов, возможность выбрать другой язык рассказа. При этом фотографии продолжали ошибаться: картинка к истории иногда рассказывала что-то совсем своё.\n\nВеб-поиск добавил проверку по внешним источникам. Это описание итерации 2025 года: в более позднем README уже указаны Claude и проверка поиском; состав моделей у проекта менялся.\n\n## Почему здесь можно подождать\n\nУ прогулочного интерфейса нашлось преимущество: ответ не нужен немедленно. Пока человек идёт и смотрит по сторонам, бот может дольше искать место, разбираться с источниками и готовить рассказ.\n\nПоэтому основным режимом я сделал трансляцию геолокации. Включаешь её, убираешь телефон и время от времени получаешь сообщение. Задержка, которая раздражала бы в обычном чате, здесь позволяет сделать за кадром больше работы. Не нужно стоять перед экраном и наблюдать, как AI думает о твоей прогулке.\n\nОднажды я вышел на улицу, а бот не работал. И вернулся домой его чинить.\n\nДемонстрация на полтора часа стала вещью, ради которой я готов прервать прогулку. We had started as a team of five with an idea for a furniture builder. After talking to the mentors, we dropped it. By the end of the day, we were discussing something else entirely: making patient flow and delays inside a hospital visible.\n\nSlava had invited me. Gabriel proposed the new direction after our furniture idea failed to excite the mentors. Letting go of my idea stung. But “AI for a hospital” still sounded like a collection of big words. We needed an angle: what could we actually show at a hackathon?\n\n## Find something real\n\nWe started looking for a hospital publishing information in real time. Hong Kong had open, aggregated data: waiting times at 18 hospitals, updated every 15 minutes.\n\nThe project now had a connection to reality. We could build the demonstration around actual waiting times, rather than inventing both the hospital and its problems.\n\nMy agents spent all night designing the interface. In the morning, we discovered they had forgotten to connect the data. Slava hooked it up on the fly. By morning, we had the interface. The data connection had some catching up to do.\n\n## A queue has a history\n\nWe built FlowTwin as a demonstration of an operational digital twin. It shows the model hospital's state changing over time: who is waiting, where a delay has emerged, and how it affects the next steps. In the demonstration, you can follow one patient's scenario, introduce a delay and see the model change.\n\nDuring the first presentation, we were asked rather pointedly why this needed AI at all. I found the question useful. We had to explain more precisely that the agent needed a history of events, rather than just the latest snapshot of a queue. Where had the person already been? What were they waiting for now? Which constraint had appeared earlier?\n\nAfter the first round, the team was deflated. It was hot, the presentation had been interrupted, and the whole thing felt unpromising. But we made it through. Before the final, we shortened the story and rebuilt the demonstration. I operated the demo and answered a question.\n\nLow Cortisol took first place in the Google DeepMind track at RAISE Summit 2026. The team was Slava, Gabriel, Laiba, Manel and me.\n\n## Where the demo ends\n\nThe pressure on the hospitals shown in the demo comes from real, aggregated waiting times. But the individual patients, their names and their journeys are synthetic. A change in waiting time after an action in the interface is the behaviour of the demonstration model, not a reduction in waiting at a real hospital.\n\nThe repository separates those layers: real data, synthetic characters, numerical assumptions and model calls. The prototype deals with time, queues and handoffs. It does not diagnose people or choose treatments.\n\nBefore the final, we had to shorten the explanation to what we could actually demonstrate. “Why does this need AI?” had been a useful rehearsal.\n\n## Sources\n\n- [My account of the hackathon, pivot and presentations](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/213)\n- [The project and team](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alexeishipulin_we-came-to-the-largest-ai-hackathon-in-ugcPost-7480105651952758785-lHRn/)\n- [FlowTwin repository and data provenance](https://github.com/shipaleks/raise-hackathon-flowtwin)\n- [FlowTwin demo](https://divine-roch-grounded-bf796e9a.koyeb.app/)\n","tags":["AI","hackathon","teamwork"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","role":"Low Cortisol team member; direction, design with agents and demonstration","period":"RAISE Summit 2026","status":"Team hackathon prototype","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/213","label":"My account of the hackathon, pivot and presentations"},{"url":"https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alexeishipulin_we-came-to-the-largest-ai-hackathon-in-ugcPost-7480105651952758785-lHRn/","label":"The project and team"},{"url":"https://github.com/shipaleks/raise-hackathon-flowtwin","label":"FlowTwin repository and data provenance"},{"url":"https://divine-roch-grounded-bf796e9a.koyeb.app/","label":"FlowTwin demo"}]},{"id":"stories:flowtwin:ru","key":"flowtwin","lang":"ru","kind":"project","title":"FlowTwin: мы выиграли трек Google DeepMind","description":"На RAISE Summit 2026 наша команда Low Cortisol заняла первое место в треке Google DeepMind. Начиналось всё с команды из пяти человек и идеи конструктора мебели. После разговора с менторами от неё отказались. К концу дня обсуждали уже совсем другое: как сделать видимым движение пациентов и задержки внутри больницы.\n\nМеня позвал Слава. Гэбриель предложил новое направление после того, как наш мебельный замысел не вызвал у менторов особого восторга. Отказаться от своей идеи было обидно. Но «AI для больницы» тоже пока звучало как набор больших слов. Не хватало поворота: что мы вообще можем показать за хакатон?\n\n## Найти настоящую опору\n\nМы стали искать больницу, о которой можно узнать что-то в реальном времени. В Гонконге нашлись открытые агрегированные данные: время ожидания в 18 больницах, обновляемое раз в 15 минут.\n\nУ проекта появилась связь с реальностью. Теперь можно было строить показ вокруг настоящих ожиданий, а не придумывать всю больницу вместе с её проблемами.\n\nВсю ночь мои агенты рисовали интерфейс. Утром выяснилось, что данные они подключить забыли. Слава подтянул их на ходу. Интерфейс к утру был. Подключение данных пришлось догонять.\n\n## У очереди есть история\n\nВ FlowTwin мы собрали демонстрацию операционного цифрового двойника. В ней можно увидеть, как меняется состояние модели больницы во времени: кто ждёт, где возникла задержка, как она сказывается на следующих шагах. В демонстрации можно пройти по сценарию одного пациента, добавить задержку и посмотреть, как меняется модель.\n\nНа первой защите нас довольно жёстко спросили, зачем здесь вообще AI. Мне этот вопрос показался полезным. Пришлось точнее объяснить: агенту нужна история событий, а не только последний снимок очереди. Где человек уже был, чего ждёт сейчас, какое ограничение возникло раньше.\n\nПосле первого раунда команда приуныла: было жарко, презентацию перебивали, всё ощущалось не очень удачным. Но в следующий раунд мы прошли. Перед финалом сократили рассказ и пересобрали показ. Я управлял демонстрацией и отвечал на вопрос.\n\nLow Cortisol заняла первое место в треке Google DeepMind на RAISE Summit 2026. В команде были Слава, Гэбриель, Лэйба, Манель и я.\n\n## Где заканчивается демо\n\nВ основе показанного давления на больницы — настоящие агрегированные ожидания. Но отдельные пациенты, их имена и пути синтетические. Изменение времени после действия в интерфейсе — поведение демонстрационной модели, а не сокращение ожидания в настоящей больнице.\n\nВ репозитории эти слои разделены: реальные данные, синтетические персонажи, расчётные допущения и вызовы моделей. Прототип посвящён времени, очередям и передаче между этапами; он не ставит диагнозы и не выбирает лечение.\n\nПеред финалом нам пришлось сократить объяснение до того, что можно показать. Вопрос «зачем здесь AI?» оказался хорошей репетицией.\n\n## Источники\n\n- [Мой рассказ о хакатоне, смене идеи и защите](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/213)\n- [Проект и команда](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alexeishipulin_we-came-to-the-largest-ai-hackathon-in-ugcPost-7480105651952758785-lHRn/)\n- [Репозиторий FlowTwin и происхождение данных](https://github.com/shipaleks/raise-hackathon-flowtwin)\n- [Демо FlowTwin](https://divine-roch-grounded-bf796e9a.koyeb.app/)\n","tags":["AI","хакатон","командный проект"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"original","role":"Участник Low Cortisol; поиск направления, дизайн с агентами и демонстрация","period":"RAISE Summit 2026","status":"Командный хакатонный прототип","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/213","label":"Мой рассказ о хакатоне, смене идеи и защите"},{"url":"https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alexeishipulin_we-came-to-the-largest-ai-hackathon-in-ugcPost-7480105651952758785-lHRn/","label":"Проект и команда"},{"url":"https://github.com/shipaleks/raise-hackathon-flowtwin","label":"Репозиторий FlowTwin и происхождение данных"},{"url":"https://divine-roch-grounded-bf796e9a.koyeb.app/","label":"Демо FlowTwin"}]},{"id":"stories:fly-poetry:en","key":"fly-poetry","lang":"en","kind":"project","title":"Fly Poetry: I adapted a fly-brain demo for Chukovsky","description":"I replaced the video in badapple-fly with a poem to understand what it means to “run” something on a fly brain. People were already running Bad Apple on it, with a fruit fly model twitching alongside. I watched and could not work out what “running” meant here.\n\nA connectome maps connections between neurons. But where had the moving body come from? Were the muscles modelled? What about the halteres? What exactly connected the image going in to the movement on the right?\n\nWith a relevant education and some experience in neuroimaging, I found this confusion particularly annoying. I decided to investigate by adapting an existing demo.\n\n## Chukovsky instead of Bad Apple\n\nI took the badapple-fly repository and began adapting the demo with Codex. Instead of the original video, I decided to “run” Chukovsky's poem about a fly “on a fly.” The quotation marks are doing important work.\n\nLetters become a visual signal projected onto a neural representation. Alongside it, movement is produced by an approximate motor decoder. Between the text, the highlighted neurons and the body sit transformations and assumptions.\n\nThe fly is not reading Chukovsky or understanding the poem. Projecting letters does not become reading because there is a picture of a brain next to it. And a body model that moves convincingly does not, by itself, establish that the whole chain is biologically accurate.\n\n## My part\n\nMy contribution was choosing the material and adapting an existing demo into this strange art experiment. Other researchers produced the connectome and body model. The project builds on MaleCNS, NeuroMechFly and badapple-fly; those foundations belong alongside my adaptation.\n\nThe project was frankly stupid, but at least I understood what was happening. The phrase “a poem on a fly brain” now points me towards specific transformations, source work and assumptions. Chukovsky had helped debug my understanding.\n\n[Open the interactive Fly Poetry demo](https://shipulin.md/projects/fly-poetry/).\n\n## Sources and foundations\n\n- [My account of making the demo](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/244)\n- [MaleCNS: connectome source data](https://male-cns.janelia.org/)\n- [NeuroMechFly: a fruit fly body model](https://neuromechfly.org/)\n- [The demo and credits, including badapple-fly](https://shipulin.md/projects/fly-poetry/)\n","tags":["neuroscience","experiment","art"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","role":"Adapting an open demo with AI and creating a visual experiment","period":"2026","status":"Interactive demo","sources":[{"url":"https://shipulin.md/projects/fly-poetry/","label":"The demo and credits, including badapple-fly"},{"url":"https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/244","label":"My account of making the demo"},{"url":"https://male-cns.janelia.org/","label":"MaleCNS: connectome source data"},{"url":"https://neuromechfly.org/","label":"NeuroMechFly: a fruit fly body model"}]},{"id":"stories:fly-poetry:ru","key":"fly-poetry","lang":"ru","kind":"project","title":"Как я переделал нейродемо в «Муху-цокотуху»","description":"Заменил видео в badapple-fly стихотворением Чуковского, чтобы понять, что означает «запустить что-то на мозге мухи». Я смотрел и не понимал, что здесь вообще означает «запускали».\n\nКоннектом — это связи между нейронами. Но откуда взялось движущееся тело? Смоделированы ли мышцы? А жужжальца? Что именно связывает картинку на входе с движением справа?\n\nС подходящим образованием и некоторым опытом нейровизуализации это непонимание было особенно обидным. Я решил разобраться через переделку существующего демо.\n\n## Вместо Bad Apple — Чуковский\n\nЯ взял репозиторий badapple-fly и с помощью Codex стал переделывать демо. Вместо исходного видео решил «запустить» «на мухе» стихотворение про Муху-цокотуху. Кавычки здесь делают важную работу.\n\nБуквы превращаются в визуальный сигнал и проецируются на нейронное представление. Рядом показано движение, полученное через приближённый двигательный декодер. Между текстом, подсветкой нейронов и телом есть преобразования и допущения.\n\nМуха при этом не читает Чуковского и не понимает стихотворение. Проекция букв не становится чтением оттого, что рядом нарисован мозг. А убедительно двигающаяся модель тела сама по себе не доказывает, что вся цепочка биологически точна.\n\n## Что здесь моё\n\nМоя часть — выбор материала и переделка существующего демо в этот странный художественный опыт. Коннектом и модель тела — работа других исследователей. В основе используются MaleCNS, NeuroMechFly и badapple-fly; их важно видеть вместе с моей адаптацией.\n\nПроект получился откровенно тупым, зато я хоть понял, что там происходит. Теперь за фразой «стихотворение на мозге мухи» для меня стоят конкретные преобразования, исходные работы и допущения. Чуковский пригодился для отладки собственного понимания.\n\n[Открыть интерактивную «Муху-цокотуху»](https://shipulin.md/projects/fly-poetry/).\n\n## Источники и основа\n\n- [Мой рассказ о создании демо](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/244)\n- [MaleCNS — исходные данные коннектома](https://male-cns.janelia.org/)\n- [NeuroMechFly — модель тела дрозофилы](https://neuromechfly.org/)\n- [Демо и описание использованных работ, включая badapple-fly](https://shipulin.md/projects/fly-poetry/)\n","tags":["нейронаука","эксперимент","искусство"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"original","role":"Адаптация открытого демо с AI и авторский визуальный эксперимент","period":"2026","status":"Интерактивное демо","sources":[{"url":"https://shipulin.md/projects/fly-poetry/","label":"Демо и описание использованных работ, включая badapple-fly"},{"url":"https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/244","label":"Мой рассказ о создании демо"},{"url":"https://male-cns.janelia.org/","label":"MaleCNS — исходные данные коннектома"},{"url":"https://neuromechfly.org/","label":"NeuroMechFly — модель тела дрозофилы"}]},{"id":"stories:grounded:en","key":"grounded","lang":"en","kind":"project","title":"Grounded: I built a bot for open-ended answers","description":"I built an AI tool that proposes categories, codes responses and explains its choices, so the cost of analysis need not decide which questions researchers ask.","url":"/en/projects/grounded/","markdownUrl":"/en/projects/grounded.md","markdown":"---\ntitle: \"Grounded: I built a bot for open-ended answers\"\ndescription: \"I built an AI tool that proposes categories, codes responses and explains its choices, so the cost of analysis need not decide which questions researchers ask.\"\ndate: 2026-10-19\nlang: en\ntranslationKey: \"grounded\"\ntranslationStatus: machine\nkind: project\nname: \"Grounded\"\nperiod: \"2024–2025\"\nrole: \"Problem definition and building the tool with AI\"\nstatus: \"Released tool\"\ntags: [\"research\", \"AI\", \"tools\"]\nrelated: []\nsourceUrls: []\ncanonical: \"https://shipulin.md/en/projects/grounded/\"\n---\n\nOpen-ended questions are wonderful right up until you find yourself staring at a spreadsheet with two thousand rows. Useful observations, “everything is fine,” and things you never asked about, all mixed together.\n\nFirst, you need categories. Then you assign the responses to them. Then you discover that some categories are barely used, while others should have been split in two. And you start again.\n\nSomewhere around here, the researcher promises never to do this again. In the next survey, people get a list of predefined options and a small “Other” field. The method is still good. Dealing with its results is just too much trouble.\n\n## Give people room to answer\n\nThat cost interested me. When processing a free-text response takes too long, we change more than the analysis. We change what we are willing to ask. Instead of an opportunity to describe their problem, people get our assumptions about it.\n\nThat led me to build Grounded for coding open-ended responses. It is a Telegram bot: give it a set of responses, and it proposes categories, codes the material, and explains its decisions. If a category is barely used, it offers to rerun the analysis without it. A separate model checks the coding.\n\nCategories need revisiting. A response might fit several at once, or none at all. Explanations let you see why the bot put it there. Rerunning the analysis means you do not have to cling to a bad first codebook just because you have already spent two days on it.\n\n## An AI bot written by AI\n\nI built the tool with AI: AI wrote the bot's code. I started with a familiar research problem, rather than a new model in search of something to do.\n\nFor the public version, I chose Telegram and tried payments in Stars. I also made the limitation clear from the start: this was an experiment, not ready-made corporate infrastructure. The bot let me try a payment model and different ways to improve the coding.\n\n## What counts as a result?\n\nIn the 2024 announcement, I reported a processing time: a thousand responses in five minutes. That describes the speed of that version, not its accuracy. Having another model check the output does not turn it into ground truth, either.\n\nThe researcher is still responsible for what the categories mean, which important distinctions have disappeared, and whether the result answers the question. An automatic rerun makes it easier to revisit categories that did not work the first time.\n\nI wanted to make open-ended questions practical where the analysis had made them too much trouble. “Other — please specify” deserves a better life.\n\n## Sources\n\n- [Grounded launch and workflow](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/11)\n- [An update after six months of use](https://t.me/Shipao/2325)\n","tags":["research","AI","tools"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","role":"Problem definition and building the tool with AI","period":"2024–2025","status":"Released tool","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/11","label":"Grounded launch and workflow"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2325","label":"An update after six months of use"}]},{"id":"stories:grounded:ru","key":"grounded","lang":"ru","kind":"project","title":"Grounded: собрал бота для открытых ответов","description":"Я собрал AI-инструмент, который предлагает категории, кодирует ответы и объясняет решения. В ней вперемешку лежат полезные наблюдения, ответы «всё нормально» и то, о чём ты вообще не спрашивал.\n\nСначала нужно придумать категории. Потом разнести по ним ответы. Потом обнаружить, что часть категорий почти не используется, а другие стоило разделить. И начать заново.\n\nГде-то здесь исследователь обещает себе больше никогда так не делать. В следующем опросе у человека уже будет готовый список вариантов и маленькое поле «Другое». Метод остался хорошим; просто разбираться с его результатами слишком хлопотно.\n\n## Вернуть вопрос человеку\n\nМеня интересовала именно эта цена. Если обработка свободного ответа требует слишком много времени, мы меняем не только способ анализа — мы меняем то, о чём вообще готовы спрашивать. Вместо возможности рассказать о своей проблеме человек получает наши предположения о ней.\n\nТак появился Grounded — мой инструмент для кодировки открытых ответов. Это Telegram-бот: ему отдаёшь массив ответов, он предлагает систему категорий, кодирует материал и объясняет свои решения. Если какая-то категория почти не используется, предлагает пересчитать результат без неё. Отдельная модель перепроверяет кодировку.\n\nКатегории приходится пересматривать. Ответ может подходить сразу к нескольким, а может не помещаться ни в одну. Объяснение позволяет посмотреть, почему бот отнёс его именно сюда, а пересчёт — не держаться за первую неудачную систему только потому, что в неё уже вложили два дня.\n\n## Бот, который написал AI\n\nИнструмент я собирал с AI: код этого AI-бота написал AI. Моей отправной точкой была знакомая исследовательская задача, а не желание найти применение новой модели.\n\nДля публичной версии я выбрал Telegram и попробовал оплату звёздами. При этом сразу оговорился: такой формат — эксперимент, а не готовая корпоративная инфраструктура. Через бота можно было проверить механику оплаты и разные способы улучшить кодировку.\n\n## Что считать результатом\n\nВ анонсе 2024 года я приводил ориентир: тысяча ответов за пять минут. Это скорость той версии, не доказательство точности. Проверка другой моделью тоже не превращает разметку в истину.\n\nИсследователь по-прежнему отвечает за то, что означают категории, где потерялись важные различия и можно ли использовать результат для своего вопроса. Автоматический пересчёт помогает вернуться к категориям, которые не сработали с первого раза.\n\nЯ хотел вернуть открытые вопросы туда, где от них отказывались из-за хлопот с анализом. Поле «Другое — уточните, что именно» заслуживает лучшей судьбы.\n\n## Источники\n\n- [Запуск Grounded и описание процесса](https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/11)\n- [Пост об использовании спустя полгода](https://t.me/Shipao/2325)\n","tags":["исследования","AI","инструменты"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"original","role":"Постановка задачи и сборка инструмента с AI","period":"2024–2025","status":"Опубликованный инструмент","sources":[{"url":"https://t.me/humanagentinteraction/11","label":"Запуск Grounded и описание процесса"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2325","label":"Пост об использовании спустя полгода"}]},{"id":"stories:papper:en","key":"papper","lang":"en","kind":"project","title":"Papper: I built a team and shipped an app to the App Store","description":"I conceived and designed an app for paper lists, then shipped it with a team in 2023. It does not send notifications or suggest a quick look at the rest of the internet. So Papper began with a fairly stubborn idea: keep the paper, and add the conveniences of a phone.\n\nI conceived and designed the app, built the team, and we released Papper on the App Store in 2023. Papper turns a handwritten list into a digital one. Or takes a digital list, prints it nicely, and lets you tick things off with a pen and scan the changes back in. The sheet of paper remains a full part of the system.\n\n## From bad mockups to a real app\n\nMy part was the concept, design, website and product flows. Bogdan handled iOS development; Kolya handled ML. Along the way, I learned to make bad mockups in Sketch, and then one good one in Figma.\n\nBy then, I had also designed the website, registered a company and made a 3D animation that nearly boiled my laptop. We could already have posted a handsome concept and collected some likes. But we were stubborn: we wanted the thing to actually reach the App Store. The App Store was still years away.\n\n## A real tick looks different\n\nIn a mockup, a tick is a neat mark inside a box. In real life, people use different pens, almost hit the box, and photograph the sheet with sunlight falling across it.\n\nTo train recognition, I asked people to print our templates and send photos: first of the blank sheet, then filled in, from different angles. Printers running out of ink were especially welcome, along with coloured paper, difficult lighting and different cameras. A bad printer had suddenly become more useful than a perfect mockup.\n\nThe beta was just as practical: test recognition, gather data, try the design and work out how to explain the app on first launch. We were looking for people with printers. Without one, they could not try half the idea.\n\n## Shipping is not the finish\n\nBy 2 December 2023, Papper was on the App Store. That day, I showed myself using my own app, installed from the store for the first time, and asked people to support our Product Hunt launch.\n\nInside the app, a list became a carousel of individual tasks. We wanted to keep that paper-like focus on one thing at a time. The printout had a QR code. Someone with an iPhone could scan it to open an App Clip, a small version of the app containing that list, without installing the full app.\n\nI made a big bet on App Clip. Removing a trip to the store from someone's first encounter with the product seemed important. Designing that flow took a lot of work.\n\nBut after launch, we still had few users. The New Year growth we had hoped for never arrived. An unexpected backend bill did. Getting into the store had not solved distribution or economics for us.\n\n## The product comes back from the real world\n\nWe kept changing the interface and recognition, and tried promotion. One sponsorship reached a schoolgirl YouTuber in Texas. Her example to-do list included “remember to take the Bible to church.” That was a life for the paper list I had certainly not pictured while designing it.\n\nApp Clip never provided the easy way into the product I had hoped for. A lot of work went into that bet, and to me it became an important part of Papper's failure.\n\nPapper became a practical course in almost everything: design, collaborative development, management and marketing. I learned that I could come up with an idea and get it to release through willpower, stubbornness and stupidity. That I was a decent designer, but still a weak manager. I published the design system in June 2024, and the App Clip retrospective in June 2025. The release left me with things to share and things to rethink.\n\n## Sources\n\n- [My co-founder role and work with the team](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexeishipulin/)\n- [Papper's early years](https://t.me/Shipao/1561)\n- [Collecting examples for recognition](https://t.me/Shipao/1888)\n- [The first beta](https://t.me/Shipao/1939)\n- [Launch thread, 2 December 2023](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1730921871305048238)\n- [2023 recap: team roles and problems after launch](https://t.me/Shipao/2060)\n- [Publishing the design system, June 2024](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1801028980495069250)\n- [The Texas sponsorship](https://t.me/Shipao/2194)\n- [Looking back at App Clip, June 2025](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1932021304867119358)\n","tags":["product","design","paper"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","role":"Concept, design, design system and product work; development with the team","period":"2019–2026","status":"Released on the App Store","sources":[{"url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexeishipulin/","label":"My co-founder role and work with the team"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/1561","label":"Papper's early years"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/1888","label":"Collecting examples for recognition"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/1939","label":"The first beta"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1730921871305048238","label":"Launch thread, 2 December 2023"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2060","label":"2023 recap: team roles and problems after launch"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1801028980495069250","label":"Publishing the design system, June 2024"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2194","label":"The Texas sponsorship"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1932021304867119358","label":"Looking back at App Clip, June 2025"}]},{"id":"stories:papper:ru","key":"papper","lang":"ru","kind":"project","title":"Papper: как я собрал команду и выпустил приложение в App Store","description":"Я придумал приложение для бумажных списков, спроектировал его и вместе с командой выпустил в 2023 году. Она не присылает уведомления и не предлагает заодно проверить, что происходит в остальном интернете. Поэтому Papper начался с довольно упрямой идеи: сохранить бумагу и добавить ей удобства телефона.\n\nЯ придумал и спроектировал приложение, собрал команду — и в 2023 году мы выпустили Papper в App Store. В Papper рукописный список можно превратить в цифровой. А цифровой — красиво распечатать, отмечать дела ручкой и сканировать обратно. Бумажный лист остаётся полноценной частью системы.\n\n## От плохого макета до настоящего приложения\n\nМоей частью были идея, дизайн, сайт и продуктовые сценарии. Богдан занимался iOS-разработкой, Коля — ML. За это время я научился делать плохие макеты в Sketch, а потом один хороший — в Figma.\n\nК тому моменту я уже нарисовал сайт, зарегистрировал компанию и сделал трёхмерную анимацию, которая вскипятила ноутбук. Всё это уже можно было выложить как красивый концепт и собрать лайки. Но мы упёрлись: хотелось, чтобы штука действительно оказалась в App Store. До App Store оставалось ещё несколько лет.\n\n## В жизни галочка выглядит иначе\n\nВ макете галочка — аккуратный знак в квадратике. В жизни её ставят разными ручками, почти попадают в квадратик и фотографируют лист, на который косо падает солнце.\n\nДля обучения распознавания я просил людей распечатать наши шаблоны и прислать фотографии: сначала пустого листа, потом заполненного, под разными углами. Особенно приветствовались принтеры с кончающейся краской, цветная бумага, сложное освещение и разные камеры. Плохой принтер внезапно стал полезнее идеального мокапа.\n\nБета тоже была приземлённой: проверить распознавание, собрать данные, обкатать дизайн и понять, как объяснять приложение при первом запуске. Мы искали людей с принтером — без него половину нашей затеи было просто не попробовать.\n\n## Релиз ещё не финал\n\nК 2 декабря 2023 Papper был в App Store. В тот день я показывал, как впервые пользуюсь собственным приложением, установленным из магазина, и звал поддержать наш запуск на Product Hunt.\n\nВнутри список распадался на карусель отдельных задач: хотелось сохранить бумажное ощущение фокуса на одном деле. На распечатке стоял QR-код. Через него человек с iPhone мог открыть App Clip — маленькую версию приложения с этим списком, даже не устанавливая полную.\n\nНа App Clip я сделал большую ставку. Казалось важным убрать поход в магазин приложений из первого знакомства с продуктом. На проектирование этой логики ушло много сил.\n\nНо после релиза пользователей оставалось мало. Ожидаемого новогоднего роста не случилось. Зато пришёл неожиданный счёт за бэкенд. Приложение в магазине не решило само собой ни дистрибуцию, ни экономику.\n\n## Продукт возвращается из реальности\n\nМы продолжили менять интерфейс и распознавание, пробовали продвижение. Одна рекламная интеграция дошла до школьницы-ютуберши из Техаса. В её примере списка дел было «не забыть взять Библию в церковь». У бумажного списка нашлась жизнь, которой я при проектировании явно не представлял.\n\nApp Clip так и не обеспечил того простого входа в продукт, на который я рассчитывал. На эту ставку ушло много сил, и для меня она стала одним из важных элементов неудачи Papper.\n\nPapper стал для меня практикумом почти по всему: дизайну, совместной разработке, управлению, маркетингу. Выяснилось, что я могу придумать идею и на силе воли, упрямстве и слабоумии довести её до релиза. Что я неплохой дизайнер, но пока ещё слабый управленец. В июне 2024 я опубликовал дизайн-систему. А в июне 2025 — разбор ставки на App Clip. У релиза получилось два продолжения: чем хочется поделиться и что хочется переделать.\n\n## Источники\n\n- [Моя роль сооснователя и работа с командой](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexeishipulin/)\n- [Первые годы Papper](https://t.me/Shipao/1561)\n- [Как мы собирали примеры для распознавания](https://t.me/Shipao/1888)\n- [Первая бета](https://t.me/Shipao/1939)\n- [Релизный тред, 2 декабря 2023](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1730921871305048238)\n- [Итоги 2023: роли команды и проблемы после релиза](https://t.me/Shipao/2060)\n- [Публикация дизайн-системы, июнь 2024](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1801028980495069250)\n- [Рекламная интеграция в Техасе](https://t.me/Shipao/2194)\n- [Ретроспектива App Clip, июнь 2025](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1932021304867119358)\n","tags":["продукт","дизайн","бумага"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"original","role":"Идея, дизайн, дизайн-система и продуктовая работа; разработка — вместе с командой","period":"2019–2026","status":"Приложение выпущено в App Store","sources":[{"url":"https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexeishipulin/","label":"Моя роль сооснователя и работа с командой"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/1561","label":"Первые годы Papper"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/1888","label":"Как мы собирали примеры для распознавания"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/1939","label":"Первая бета"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1730921871305048238","label":"Релизный тред, 2 декабря 2023"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2060","label":"Итоги 2023: роли команды и проблемы после релиза"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1801028980495069250","label":"Публикация дизайн-системы, июнь 2024"},{"url":"https://t.me/Shipao/2194","label":"Рекламная интеграция в Техасе"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1932021304867119358","label":"Ретроспектива App Clip, июнь 2025"}]},{"id":"stories:shoelaces:en","key":"shoelaces","lang":"en","kind":"essay","title":"64 shoelace observations, then someone explained the knot","description":"In July 2023 I published a personal experiment comparing four ways to tie my laces. Instead of immediately buying different ones, I spent several months testing the best way to tie them.\n\n## Four almost identical knots\n\nA two-loop bow has two steps. First, you cross the laces themselves; then you cross the loops. At each step, either the left or the right part can go on top. That gives you four variations, although they look almost identical as you tie them.\n\nYou can put the right part on top both times. You can use the left both times. Or you can change direction between the first and second steps. Writing it down immediately makes it confusing: a familiar knot is easier to demonstrate with your hands.\n\nI wrote a Shortcut. Before I left home, it told me which variation to use that day and made an entry in a spreadsheet. Afterwards, I recorded which lace had come undone first. By the time I published the analysis in July 2023, I had collected 64 observations.\n\nThat was not 64 people, or even 64 pairs of shoes. It was me, my walks and some very slippery laces. The question was personal too: could I stop having to tie them all the time?\n\n## But we are scientists\n\nIn July 2023, I posted the results in a thread. The charts already showed a difference. But we are scientists; that won't do.\n\nI combined the symmetrical variations, leaving a comparison between cases where the laces and loops cross in the same direction and cases where the direction changes. I ran a chi-square test and happily announced the result: changing direction was more reliable.\n\nProblem solved, apparently. A way to avoid falling flat on your face. Literally.\n\nHere is what worked for me: first, put the right lace over the left; then put the left loop over the right. The important part is changing direction at the second step. If you are already confused, that is fine. I also had to switch from words to a demonstration with my hands.\n\n## The serious part of a silly study\n\nThe next day, I added the important bit. People in the comments pointed out that the result was predictable if you understood the knot's structure. One part of the lace prevents another from slipping.\n\nSomeone had looked at the mechanics and understood what I had spent months of walks and a spreadsheet trying to establish. A silly study had given me a thoroughly serious crisis.\n\nI asked myself: how often do we work to obtain statistical confirmation before trying to understand the mechanism? I already had an answer to which variation won more often in my shoes. Understanding why it won had come by a different route.\n\nIn the end, I recorded a short video of the knot. The caption has just two steps: first, the lace in the right hand goes over the left; then the loop in the left goes over the right. You can watch it, repeat it and feel the difference with your hands.\n\nThe sample here is one person and his shoelaces. The question reaches further: how often do we test for a difference before trying to understand the mechanism?\n\nThe shoelaces gave me a reason to ask both. Not a bad result for something whose main responsibility is simply to stay tied.\n\n## Sources\n\n- [Original thread, 19 July 2023](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681763470751027204)\n- [The Shortcut and recording observations](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766142736584704)\n- [The post about 64 observations](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766445032656898)\n- [Reconsidering the result, 20 July 2023](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682004787707904000)\n- [The question about statistics and mechanism](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682005436877209603)\n- [Video showing the knot](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682008299208622080)\n","tags":["research","behaviour","personal"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"machine","role":"Sole participant, experimenter and thread author","period":"July 2023","status":"Personal experiment","sources":[{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681763470751027204","label":"Original thread, 19 July 2023"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766142736584704","label":"The Shortcut and recording observations"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766445032656898","label":"The post about 64 observations"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682004787707904000","label":"Reconsidering the result, 20 July 2023"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682005436877209603","label":"The question about statistics and mechanism"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682008299208622080","label":"Video showing the knot"}]},{"id":"stories:shoelaces:ru","key":"shoelaces","lang":"ru","kind":"essay","title":"Шнурки: я собрал 64 наблюдения, а ответ был в узле","description":"В июле 2023 я опубликовал личный эксперимент с четырьмя вариантами узла. Вместо того чтобы сразу купить другие, я несколько месяцев проверял, как их лучше завязывать.\n\n## Четыре почти одинаковых узла\n\nУ узла с двумя петельками есть два шага. Сначала перекрещиваются сами шнурки, затем — петли. На каждом шаге можно положить сверху левую или правую часть. Получаются четыре варианта, хотя руками всё выглядит почти одинаково.\n\nМожно оба раза класть сверху правую часть. Можно оба раза левую. А можно сменить направление между первым и вторым шагом. Когда об этом пишешь, всё моментально начинает путаться: привычный узел проще показать руками.\n\nЯ написал Shortcut. Перед выходом из дома он говорил, какой вариант использовать сегодня, и делал запись в таблице. Потом я отмечал, какой шнурок развязался первым. К разбору, опубликованному в июле 2023, набралось 64 наблюдения.\n\nЭто не были 64 человека и даже не 64 пары ботинок. Это был я, мои прогулки и очень скользкие шнурки. Вопрос, впрочем, тоже был вполне личным: можно ли перестать постоянно их завязывать?\n\n## Но мы же учёные\n\nВ июле 2023 я выложил результаты в тред. Графики уже показывали разницу. Но мы же учёные, нам такой подход не подойдёт.\n\nЯ объединил симметричные варианты: осталось сравнить случаи, когда шнурки и петли перекрещиваются одинаково, и случаи, когда направление меняется. Применил хи-квадрат и радостно объявил результат: менять направление оказалось надёжнее.\n\nКазалось бы, задача решена. Теперь можно не ударить в грязь лицом — буквально.\n\nВот что у меня сработало: сначала правый шнурок ложится поверх левого, затем левая петля — поверх правой. Важно, что на втором шаге направление меняется. Если вы уже запутались, это нормально: мне тоже пришлось перейти от слов к демонстрации руками.\n\n## Нешуточная часть шуточного исследования\n\nНа следующий день я дописал главное. В комментариях заметили, что результат можно было предсказать, если разобраться в устройстве узла. Одна часть верёвки препятствует скольжению другой.\n\nКто-то посмотрел на механику и понял то, на что я потратил месяцы прогулок и таблицу. Шуточное исследование вызвало у меня совершенно нешуточный кризис.\n\nЯ спросил себя: как часто мы добываем статистическое подтверждение там, где ещё не попытались понять механизм? В моём случае уже был ответ на вопрос, какой вариант чаще выигрывал в моих ботинках. Понимание, почему он выигрывал, пришло другим путём.\n\nВ итоге я записал короткое видео с узлом. В его подписи всего два шага: сначала шнурок в правой руке ложится поверх левого, потом петля в левой — поверх правой. На это можно посмотреть, повторить и почувствовать разницу руками.\n\nВыборка здесь — один человек и его шнурки. А вопрос шире: как часто мы проверяем разницу, ещё не разобравшись в механизме?\n\nШнурки дали повод задать оба. Для предмета, основная обязанность которого — просто не развязываться, вполне неплохой результат.\n\n## Источники\n\n- [Исходный тред, 19 июля 2023](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681763470751027204)\n- [Shortcut и запись наблюдений](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766142736584704)\n- [Пост о 64 наблюдениях](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766445032656898)\n- [Переоценка результата, 20 июля 2023](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682004787707904000)\n- [Вопрос о статистике и механизме](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682005436877209603)\n- [Видео с устройством узла](https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682008299208622080)\n","tags":["исследования","поведение","личное"],"relatedKeys":[],"date":"2026-10-19","translationStatus":"original","role":"Один участник, автор эксперимента и треда","period":"Июль 2023","status":"Личный эксперимент","sources":[{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681763470751027204","label":"Исходный тред, 19 июля 2023"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766142736584704","label":"Shortcut и запись наблюдений"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1681766445032656898","label":"Пост о 64 наблюдениях"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682004787707904000","label":"Переоценка результата, 20 июля 2023"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682005436877209603","label":"Вопрос о статистике и механизме"},{"url":"https://x.com/8hipulin/status/1682008299208622080","label":"Видео с устройством узла"}]}]}
